Real name, Ezee Hanabe best known as MA-E. The soweto born rapper and co-founder of Cashtime Life is best known as one of the member of South African hip-hop group called TEARGAS. The group was formed by MA-E, K.O and Ntukza.
Together with his brother and fellow Teargas member, Ntukza, got into rapping and built the street buzz by free styling at kasi sessions like Black Sundae and Slaghuis then later then later started doing their own sessions in Chiawelo, Soweto.
Ma-E first got a taste the limelight when he acted in the play Shaka Zulu and even got to tour Scotland with the play in 2004. It was upon his return that him and his brother Ntukza joined forces with fellow Vaal University of Technology (VUT) student K.O and thus Teargas was born. In 2013 Ma-E alongside K.O teamed up with long time music and marketing executive Thabiso Khati to start Cashtime Life, an all-encompassing entertainment and lifestyle company with a 360-degree approach that will exclusively focus on urban youth culture entertainment. Ma-E has just released his first solo single “Ugogo” and the song is already enjoying massive airplay enjoying massive airplay across radio and television with many calling it a ‘sure hit’
KID-X – Born Bonginkosi Mahlangu to Florence Baphelile and Sam Mahlangu, Kid X as he is now popularly known has an unorthodox rise to fame. Discovered by K.O on the recommendation would-be group member Smashis. This was around the time when KiD X was the hottest unsigned Hip Hop act in the country, having created a massive buzz on the streets, internet and scoring three consectuvie number ones’s on YFM’s Hot 9 Nine Hip-hop new group that will cater to both traditional Teargas, AB Crazy and Smashis to form Cashtime Fam, a new group that will cater to both traditional Teargas fans and younger fans that were part of the emerging Hip Hop lifestyle in the country.
In 2014 Cashtime Fam was disbanded and KiD X became the first round pick for the newly rebranded Cashtime Life. KiD X was K.O’s first call for collaboration when it was time to record his new single ‘Caracara’. With the release and success of Caracara, KiD X was now the hottest commodity in South African Hip Hop as he was now the common factor on three of the biggest South Aftrican Hip Hop records for 2014. ‘Caracara’ has gone on to break records and this helped set up KiD X s first solo single ‘Pass n Special’ as the most anticipated 1st single in the history of South African Hip Hop. With ‘Pass n Special’ KiD X did not disappoint, giving his fans all that they’ve been asking for and more.
