Chidinma Ekile goes simply as “Chidinma”, it is both her real name and her stage name. For those who don’t know, “Chidinma” means “God is Good”. Chidinma is a Nigerian singer-songwriter, recording artiste and stage performer.
Chidinma was born on May 2, 1991 in Lagos, Nigeria and she is the sixth of seven children of her parents.
Chidinma in her early years attended primary and secondary school in Ketu before moving to Ikorodu. She had a chance to study Mass Communication at the University of Lagos but declined the admission due to her participation in Project Fame West Africa. She later returned to study Sociology at the same institution.
Chidinma shot into fame in the year 2010 when she won the third season of Project Fame West Africa. Ever since then, she has not looked back.
Chidinma became the first female singer to peak at number one on MTV Base Official Naija Top 10 chart with the music video of her single, “Emi Ni Baller”.
In 2011, she released “ Jankoliko” which featured Sound Sultan and this was well received by millions of her fans. Her debut album “Chidinma” was released on Spinlet, with singles like “Jankoliko”, “Carry You Go”, “Kedike” and “Run Dia Mouth” in play. She featured Sound Sultan, Tha Suspect, Olamide and Muna on the album.
In 2012, Chidinma won Best Female West African Act at the Kora Awards and performed “Kedike” at the ceremony.

Chidinma is well-known as Miss Kedike due to the release of her love song titled “Kedike” which was released in 2012. “Kedike” is Chidinma’s most popular work till date. Her net worth should be estimated at $9 million.
